Both the Buckners attended Springville schools through all 12 grades, and so did their four children. Their support of the local schools is widely known, to the point that when the library — the same library now named for them — needed new carpet after 13 years, the principal turned to the Buckners rather than the proration-strapped school board. And, of course, the Buckners came through with an $8,000 donation.
“We believe in the public education system and we support it,” said Frank Buckner. “But we also demand a certain level of education along with that.”
Congratulations to the Buckners for your namesake library, and thank you for helping Springville’s schools all these years.
