Letter: Low turnout a concern, not a relief

Dear Editor,

I was appalled by a statement in your article concerning the low turnout in last Tuesday’s election.

You wrote, “The news (of the low turnout) was a welcome relief for the county office ...”

No county, state, or federal office should ever be relieved with a low turnout for any election.

Whether to wait in a long line to vote should be the choice of the voter but should, if possible, never be necessary.

Providing ample voting sites should be top priority with the county.
