RIVERSIDE — Three individuals were arrested in connection with a series of car break-ins.

Riverside Police chief Rick Oliver said Daniel Allen Jacks, 19, of Jacksonville, AL, Andrew Korey Neighbors, 20, of Pell City, and Jeffery William Kimbrel, 19, of Cropwell, were arrested May 13 in connection with approximately 16 cases of unauthorized breaking and entering of a vehicle.

“We received information from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department about subjects possibly breaking and entering vehicles in the Pell City area,” Oliver said.

Oliver said while on routine patrol, he and Riverside Police Officer David Ashley observed three subjects at River Bend Apartments.

“We approached them and obtained consent to search their vehicle,” he said. “We found several items believed to be stolen from the Pell City area.”

Oliver said further investigation revealed some of the items were stolen both from both Pell City and Riverside.

“We linked them to approximately 16 different unauthorized breaking and entering of a vehicle cases, and more charges may be pending,” he said. “Each one has multiple charges, because they all weren’t involved in the same break-ins.”

Oliver said Jacks was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana second-degree, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

He said the investigation is ongoing, with the Riverside Police Department, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, and the Pell City Police Department working jointly on the matter.

“They are currently being held in the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City,” Oliver said.

He said the items recovered included GPS units, cameras, purses, wallets, and other electronic items. There was no estimated value of items stolen or damage to vehicles available Tuesday.

“Anyone who was a victim of unauthorized breaking and entering of a vehicle in the Pell City, Riverside, or St. Clair County area may contact their local police department or the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department to regain their property,” Oliver said.

He said individuals should call St. Clair County Central Dispatch at 205-884-3333 and they will be directed to the appropriate officials.
