The St. Clair County Commission has a dilemma that is shared by Pell City — inadequate parking downtown around the county courthouse.
That’s why the Commission is stepping in to negotiate a deal on six lots on the west side of the courthouse that they want to turn into a 70-space parking lot.
The cost is expected to be approximately $400,000, and it will help alleviate parking shortages that are exacerbated on busy days at the courthouse.
It is a worthwhile venture, and we commend the Commission for its focus on recognizing the need and finding a way to fill it.
