A new splash pad isn’t the only improvement on tap for Ragland. Officials there have received a $4,000 grant from state Rep. Blaine Galliher (R-Gadsden) for a pavilion to go along with it.

Ragland Mayor Lanis White lobbied the lawmaker for additional funds, explaining that the splash pad would require funds available. To enhance the project, giving parents a place to sit while children enjoy the spash pad, White pushed for the pavilion funding.

It paid off, and Galliher delivered a $4,000 check to the Ragland Council in December.

Galliher and White deserve thanks for their efforts. By summer, a new spash pad and pavilion will be a reality, enhancing the quality of life for Ragland as well as its recreational offerings.
