Through good police work and a team effort, officers in Pell City and Leeds were able to make arrests and discover a fully functional methamphetamine lab in the process.
The first arrest came in Pell City of a Leeds man on drug possession and eluding police charges. Then came the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Leeds, where officers found what they describe as a “cooking lab” for crystal methamphetamine in the basement.
They also seized a stolen gun, crystal methamphetamine, pseudo-ephedrine and drug paraphernalia.
In conjunction with the arrest and seizure, lawmen in Shelby County were also able to make arrests of three other people on drug and burglary charges.
The investigation was a good example of sharing information and working together to make their communities that much safer, and we thank them all for their efforts.
