Superintendent Jenny Seals reports enrollment is up by .51 percent or 43 students. That may not sound like a lot, but couple it with the climb over the past decade, and it is easy to see that school rolls have swelled.
Ten years ago, enrollment stood at 6,908. Today, St. Clair County schools have an enrollment of 8,348.
Officials are doing the best they can to keep pace, and a new school is opening for Margaret-Argo next year.
All signs are pointing up when it comes to growth in St. Clair County, and the new enrollment numbers serve to underscore that.
