A talent show was held last week at Ashville High School with all the proceeds going to the AHS wrestling program. It was a way to raise money so the wrestling program can go to the sectional tournament and state tournament.

Fifteen students participated and a few danced while the majority of them were singers.

There was a tie for first place in the dance competition between Morgan Walker and the duo of Will Wakefield and Mitchell Partlow, who are Bert and Ernie.

On the vocal side of the competition, Haley Griffin’s rendition of Revelation Song was simply amazing, and she received a score of 159 out of a possible 160.

Second place went to Nathan Harris while there was a third place tie between Amber Jackson and the duo of Stephanie Whisenant and Kristen Shockley.

The talent show raised $162.

All of the participants included Katy Ray, Shelby Lyles, Will Wakefield, Mitchell Partlow, Carrington Byers, Amber Jackson, Haley Griffin, Morgan Walker, Nathan Harris, Madison Connell, Breonica Willis, Lynn Grant, Stephanie Whisenant, and Kristen Shockley.
