The Ragland Lady Purple Devils are 10-2 on the season, and a perfect 4-0 in area play. They defeated St. Clair County, Donoho, Jacksonville Christian and Pleasant Valley. The only loss the past 10 days was to Ashville.
Ragland 48, SCCHS 18
Ragland got off to a quick start as they led 24-5 after the first quarter, and went on to beat the Lady Saints from St. Clair, 48-18.
By halftime, the Lady Purple Devils were up 32-12. Ragland won the second half scoring battle 16-6 to make the final score 48-18.
Leading Ragland was Kailey Echols with 26 points. Belle McKinney and Callie Kay scored eight points each.
Ashville 63, Ragland 42
Ragland lost for only the second time this season last week, as the team was upended by the Lady Bulldogs from Ashville 63-42.
Ashville led 14-8 after the first quarter and 33-12 at the break. The two teams scored 30 points each in the second half to make the final score 63-42.
Leading Ragland was McKinney with 17 points. Kay netted 11 points while Echols pumped in 10 points.
Ragland 42, Donoho 24
Kailey Echols scored 15 points in the 42-24 win over Donoho, and in doing so, surpassed 1,000 career points in her time at Ragland.
The Lady Purple Devils were up 15-5 after the first quarter and 29-11 at halftime. Both teams scored 13 points each in the second half to make the final score 42-24.
McKinney netted nine points while Kay added six points.
Ragland 60, JCA 35
An 18-0 run in the first quarter was all Ragland needed to beat Jacksonville Christian 60-35. By halftime, the Lady Purple Devils were up 34-9. They won with ease, 60-35.
Echols pumped in 21 points to lead Ragland. McKinney added 10 points while Payton Bearden netted six points. Kay totaled five points.
Ragland 55, Pleasant Valley 23
Ragland had an easy 55-23 victory over Pleasant Valley.
The Lady Purple Devils led 15-5 after one; 37-9 at halftime; and 47-21 after three quarters.
Echols pumped in 16 points to lead Ragland. McKinney totaled nine points while Kay and Kerston Looney netted six points each. Bearden scored five points.
