Letter: Voters should pay attention to records in November

All year long we heard comments about this “do-nothing Congress.” In November all voters have the chance to change this.

All voters should study the voting record of their representatives in Washington. Have they voted for what is good for the people or good for the corporations that financed their elections campaign? Have they made up their own minds or are they blindly following the party line?

The presidential election gives us little choice. We know how President Obama performed, with his accomplishments and failures. He has, however, proved the American dream is still possible: that a black man from a humble background through hard work and a good university degree can reach the top.

For Mr. Romney, we know that as a governor of Massachusetts he tried to follow the example of most civilized countries, and introduced universal health care. Now, under pressure from the insurance corporations, he opposes this.

Romney also promised to create more jobs, and my question is, “Where?” Visiting one of his stores, I noticed more merchandise from China than made in the USA.
