St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell identified the victim as Patricia Moon, 63, of Leeds.
He said Moon was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:58 a.m. The accident was reported at about 8:47 a.m.
Russell said the two-vehicle accident occurred at 8494 Moody Parkway.
Moody Police Department Capt. Thomas Hunt said the driver of the other vehicle, a woman, was transported by ambulance to a Birmingham hospital.
Hunt would not release the name of the other driver Wednesday afternoon. He said he was uncertain if the woman’s family was notified.
Hunt said the accident remains under investigation.
