In order to raise funds at Ragland school, the PTO held a contest where students could bring in change to vote for their favorite teacher. The teacher who raised the most money would get to throw a pie in the face of PTO president Angel Phillips.

Of the three teachers, White was chosen to throw the pie. Her first throw went over the head of Phillips, but White got a second chance, and creamed her. About $150 was raised. The top two teachers at the middle school were Al DeMent and Amy Box.
