In communities around St. Clair County, candidates for mayor and city council will line up to vie for leadership roles. In many ways, these races are more important than anything that happens at a state or federal level: city government has more of an impact on the day-to-day life of local government than any other.
So these elections are important. As important, however, is that the candidates run fair, clean, honest campaigns, and that the voters in each election make the best possible decisions for their local governments.
Remember that your mayor and council, for better or worse, represent the face of your city for the next four years. Choose wisely.
