Everyone who knows Eleanor Clinkscales knows she loves helping people. While a majority of her time is spent helping children, she turned her attention to the elderly this Easter season.

Some 170 food baskets are being distributed to the seven senior centers throughout St. Clair County.

“We are distributing from Ragland to Springville, from Steele down to the Shelby County line,” Clinkscales said. “Senior adults do not have any money, including me. We like helping people and we have a wonderful group of volunteers. We have an outstanding delivery team and we will be out all over this county once we get these food baskets prepared.”

The food baskets were put together at Refuge Baptist Church earlier this week.

In the food baskets will be the following items:

• Ham

• Sweet potatoes

• Instant potatoes

• Cabbage

• Peas

• Cake mix

• Rolls

• Tea

Clinkscales said various churches, businesses and individuals donated time, money and effort to make this food basket drive a success.
