The release states that, beginning around 7 p.m., Monday, the westbound inside lane between mile markers 148 and 149 will be closed to clean out median drains.
“Motorists may want to consider using alternate routes and adjusting arrival/departure times. Motorists should observe work-zone speed limits and other work-zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area,” the release says.
A reduced speed limit of 45 mph is in effect throughout the work zone. State troopers will control traffic and strictly enforce speed limits.
The work is part of the ALDOT’s Progress 20 project to widen the last four-lane segment of I-20 in St. Clair County. The scheduled completion date on the project is by Oct. 1, 2012.
