Music was in the air at Odenville last weekend, and with it came the cheerful sound of money being raised for Cops for Tots.

Organizers were so delighted with the turnout for the first ever Odenville Music Festival that they’re already talking about making it an annual event.

Police Chief Adam Pardue, who was also the event coordinator, said the event raised more than $5,000 for the Police Department’s Cops for Tots program.

Cops for Tots provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in Odenville. Pardue said the department has operated the program for nine years, and last year gave presents to about 40 children.

He said the goal of the program is to make sure that no child in Odenville wakes up on Christmas morning without gifts to open.

Congratulations to Chief Pardue and to all the Odenville police officers for creating a fun event for the town and for helping make Christmas merry for the little ones. If anyone doubted it, Cops for Tots proves that cops have big hearts.
