Keaton Glass is a senior at Leeds High School. He has always attended the Leeds schools since kindergarten.

He is the 18-year-old son of Marty and Angie Glass of Leeds. He has a sister, Gretchen, 20, a student at Jacksonville State University, and a brother, Austin, 14, an eight-grade student at Leeds Middle School.

His favorite subject is Math while his favorite teacher is Stephanie Freeman.

Glass is president of the National Honors Society and Peer Helpers. He is also a member of First Priority, SCA, Scholar’s Bowl Team, and several other leadership groups.

Glass plays football and soccer. He loves soccer more because he is out on the field more during soccer games. It is exciting to Glass to be a member of two state football championship teams.

Glass is looking at attending JSU, and he is planning on majoring in accounting or economics.

There were some smaller Division III schools looking at Glass for the football team as a kicker, but he received a better academic scholarship to JSU. He has a 4.2 GPA.

His advice to younger students is for them to get involved early.

“Don’t be afraid to take chances,” Glass said. “Get involved early in academics. Studying and paying attention to teachers is very important. Get involved in something that fits you. Get involved in clubs. That way, you can build relationships with teachers and students. Older role models will look up to you, and it gets you involved with seniors.”
