St. Clair County Deputy Coroner Jeremiah Gilreath identified the victim as Jesse Allen Warren, 25, of Ragland.
He said Warren was driving a pickup truck, which left the roadway and struck a tree. The accident happened near the 14,000 block of Alabama 144 in Ragland.
Gilreath said Warren was later pronounced dead at the Ragland High School football field, where he was transported for a Lifesaver helicopter.
Gilreath said the automobile accident happened at about 3 a.m., Monday.
