It takes a special person to sign up for a televised competition to determine the title of “biggest redneck.”
Two people from the area recently did just that, though — Eliza Weber, of Leeds, and Justin Campbell, of Ragland, recently gathered to watch the finale of “Redneck Island,” a reality show on CMT. The two competed with 12 others for a $100,000 prize.
It was quite a ride for both of them, and for the cast as a whole. On Saturday, nine of the 14 cast members appeared at Bass Pro Shop in Leeds, to sign autographs.
“I was at an unbelievable place doing things I never dreamed of doing,” said Campbell, who finished second on the show.
It was a memorable experience for all.
