One major change for Trussville City Schools is that for the first time, they will begin on Monday, giving students a full first week of school. For most students, teachers, and parents, this change will not be significant.
However, for the youngest students who will be attending “big” school for the first time, a full week makes for a big challenge.
To help ease the transition, kindergarten students will attend for half days the week of August 20 only. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. School buses will not run for this dismissal so parents should begin now making arrangements for their students to be picked up from school.
School officials are currently checking with the daycares that have shuttles at the school to see if they will be able to pick up the kindergarten students at 12:30 p.m., and return for the first and second grade students at 3 p.m.
Please look for more information regarding this schedule change to come as the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year gets closer.
