The ad in the St. Clair Times that was designed to get Alabamians to pressure Rep. James McClendon to consider legalizing “medical” marijuana use spurred me into action to urge him to reject the legalization of pot.
I also don’t believe the ad’s claim that 70 percent of Alabamians are in favor of legalization for medical purposes. This illegal substance has ruined the lives of so many people, I don’t see how anyone could justify legalizing it. Tacking on the word “medical” is simply a back door way to de-sensitize us to the dangers of pot, and make it more accessible, thus destroying more lives.
To Rep. McClendon I say “keep up the good work.”
