“It does enter my mind that we associate patriotism only with the military. Read the history books. Look at how we mark time.”
He further states, “Anything, any profession, any act that helps serve the common good of our country is a patriotic act.”
Well, Bud, I’d suggest that you might begin to “read the history books.”
Memorial Day is not to call our attention to those who serve our country in the military. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, living or dead.
It’s sad that one who proposes a politically correct Memorial Day, would not know for whom he has been “remembering” over the years.
