Economic development officials in St. Clair County have reason to rejoice these days as another industry announces plans to expand.Pell City’s Ford Meter Box has broken ground on a $1.8 million expansion, increasing its pipe products division by 60,000 square feet.
That movement represents a continued investment in St. Clair County, where the company has provided jobs and spent capital and acted as a good corporate citizen in its support of many a worthwhile cause in the city and county.
It is that kind of investment in the company that becomes an investment in the community, increasing employment rosters and providing a more solid tax base for city and county coffers.
We salute Ford Meter Box for its commitment over the years and the additional investment it is making for the future. Both should pay sizable dividends for the county in the years ahead.
