St. Clair County Head Start students donned T-shirts and blue ribbons and went about the business of raising awareness about the need to keep children safe from harm.As part of Child Abuse Prevention Month, some 225 students participated in the awareness campaign, drawing attention to a community problem.
It served as a compelling reminder that children need to be protected. The symbolic blue ribbon remembered those who had been hurt by abuse.
We commend Head Start officials and students for getting involved in this worthwhile campaign. Education is the key to prevention, and their work to raise awareness should help the cause along.
