IDA MAE KEEBLER BRADSHAW

ANNISTON — Funeral services for Ida Mae Keebler Bradshaw, 73, were Saturday, July 5, at 12 noon at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City. the Rev. D. Whitt Hibbs officiated. Interment was in Forest Lawn Gardens and Mausoleum, Anniston. Mrs. Bradshaw died July 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dempsey Bradshaw. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Keebler Burke; three aunts, Mary McCullough Bagwell, Ellen Keller and Ruth Atchley; nieces, Debra Burke Carroll and Kathryn Burke; and great nephew, Joshua Craig Stevens. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.

DAVID H. BROWN

PELL CITY — Graveside service for Mr. David H. Brown, 50, will be Thursday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. John A. Brown officiating. Mr. Brown died Saturday, July 5, 2008 in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by Jessie Brown, John Church and Vera DeCora. Survivors are daughters, Cherie Strickland and Nicole Strickland; mother, Pat Church; grandson, Taylor Strickland; sisters, Sunny Brown, Sonia Santiago and JoAnn (Michael) Hawthorne; and brothers, John (Hazel) Brown, Robert (Cheryl) Brown, Curtis (Ferrah) Church, Ricky (Teresa) Church, James (Alecia) Church and Danny (Gerri) Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pat Church. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

FANNIE JOYCE CLEMENTS

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Fannie Joyce Clements, 74, was held Monday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Usrey Chapel. Bro. Archie Maddox and Bro. Wayne Arnold officiated. Burial was at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Clements died Friday, July 4, 2008. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Clements; brothers-in-law Wayne Brown and Joe Thomason; sisters-in-law, Mary Jewell Amell, Lillie Thomason, Elsie Brown, and Rose Mary Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

CHARLES EDWARD HAWKINS III

ANNISTON — Graveside service for Mr. Charles Edward Hawkins III, 21, was Monday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. the Rev. Kent Maddox and the Rev. Bill Bird officiated. Burial was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hawkins died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in Birmingham. He is survived by his mother, Linda Hawkins; father, Charles Edward Foster Jr.; brothers, Chaz Hawkins and Charles Edward Foster IV; sister, Breon Foster; grandmothers, Rovene Hawkins and Elizabeth Foster; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

JIMMY JOE HAZEL

SPRINGVILLE — Funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Joe Hazel, 64, will be Thursday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City, with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pine Forest Cemetery. Mr. Hazel died Sunday, July 6, 208 in Birmingham. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and of the Northeast Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Hazel; and by a grandson, Matthew Hazel. Survivors are his wife, Fran Hazel; daughters, Joy (David) Tracy of Pleasant Grove, Renae (Roger) Gray of Minor and Wendy Parker of Birmingham; son, Wesley (Diane) Hazel of Forestdale; mother, Jemmie Hazel of Trussville; sisters, Darthey (Ken) Jackson and Mischelle (Terry) DeWitt both of Springville; brothers, William (Kathy) Hazel of Troy and Jerry (Linda) Hazel of Trussville; five granddaughters and six grandsons. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

ROY WILLIAM SEARCY JR.

PELL CITY — Graveside service for Roy William Searcy Jr., 48, will be Thursday, July 10, at 1 p.m. at Boykin Truitt Cemetery (located behind New Hope Baptist Church in Eden). Mr. Searcy died July 7, 2008. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Lea Searcy; his grandfather, Mr. John H. Vincent; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. P.R. Searcy. Survivors are his wife, Laura Searcy; two sons, William Hayden Searcy and Robert Jason (Jada) Searcy; daughter, Hannah Lea Searcy; two stepsons, Jason Randall Whitten and Christopher Lee Whitten; parents, Florence Vincent (Scotty) Crainie and Roy William (Katherine) Searcy Sr. of Woodstock, Ga.; grandmother, Frances Vincent; two brothers, Todd Vincent Searcy of Woodstock, Ga., and Alexander Searcy of Castro Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Robert Dakota Searcy, Brittney Whitten, Darren Whitten and Brayden Whitten. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

KENNETH GREGORY "GREG" SURLES

CROPWELL — Funeral service for Kenneth Gregory "Greg" Surles, 29, of Cropwell, was held Monday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. Bro. Gary Howard officiated. Burial was at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Surles died Friday, July 4, 2008. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fermon Surles and Grady and Evelyn Peoples. He is survived by his wife, Robin Surles; two daughters, Makensi Grace Surles and Madalyn Hope Surles; parents, Ken and Laura Surles; grandmother, Amelia Surles; two sisters, Tammi (Chris) Campbell and Lori (Roy) Mullins; and nieces and nephews Brantley, Branden and Kenley Campbell, Brooklyn and Karlee Mullins, and Savannah Guthrie. Mr. Surles worked for the Talladega County Sheriff's Office, police departments in Odenville and Riverside, and was currently with the Pell City Police Department. He was a member of Odenville Methodist Church, and a member of FOP and NCEA. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.
