JOHNNY JOE CASTLEBERRY

PELL CITY — Funeral services for Johnny Joe Castleberry, 66, were Tuesday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City. The Rev. Louie J. Fincher officiated. Interment was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Mr. Castleberry passed away June 15, 2008. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Michael Castleberry. He is survived by his wife, Faye Castleberry; four sons, Johnny Joe Castleberry Jr., Kenneth Castleberry, Rodney Castleberry and Steven Castleberry; two daughters, Alecia Threatt and Tammy Truss; step-son, Ken Phillips; two step-daughters, Sherrie Pearson and Felicia Edge; eight brothers, Oliver, Lloyd, Terry, David, Jim, Mack, John and Horace Castleberry; three sisters, Margie McKee, Cybil Moody and Polly McSheridan; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.

WILLIAM EUGENE "GENE" FARLEY

PELL CITY — Mr. William Eugene "Gene" Farley, 69, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 in Pell City. He is survived by his wife, Donna Farley; sons, Bryan (Paige) Cummings of Moody, Daryl (Rebekah) Farley of Lincoln and Shannon (Tracy) Farley of Moody; daughters, Sandra Ropert of Birmingham, Kathy (Mo) Askew of Birmingham, Barbara (Eddie) Ramsey of Alabaster, Pam (David) Brown of Tennessee and Cynthia (Mike) Wood of Vance; 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. GLORIA J. GOODSON

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Gloria J. Goodson, 34, was Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City. The Rev. Billy Abrams officiated. Burial was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens. Ms. Goodson passed away June 11, 2008 in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her father, Alton Sullins. She is survived by a daughter, Victoria Morris of Tullahoma, Tenn.; two sons, Andrew and Aaron Morris of Tullahoma, Tenn.; mother, Barbara Sullins of Pell City; two sisters, Kim (David) Klutts of Harrison, AR, and Terrah (Anthony) Connell of Leeds; three brothers, Wade (Lana) Sullins of Ashville, Chris Goodson of Birmingham and Tim (Ashlee) Goodson of Nashville, Tenn.; grandmother, Margie Morrow of Birmingham; and grandparents, Billy and Ann Lolly of Birmingham. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

BERTIE LEE INGRAM

TALLADEGA — Bertie Lee Ingram, 90, of Talladega died peacefully at her home Saturday, the 14th of June 2008, with her family at her side. She has now entered into Eternal Rest. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Freewill Church in Pell City, Ala. She was married to Oscar G. Ingram for 71 years when he passed away in 2005. They lived a long, loving, prosperous life starting in Delta, Clay Co., Alabama, then they moved to Sand Mountain, Ala., then to the Birmingham area and finally retiring to the lake in Talladega. Throughout her life she met no strangers and allowed no one to leave her home hungry. She was loved by many and many were blessed to be loved by her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She has touched so many lives, and she will be sorely missed. Funeral service was Tuesday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City. The Rev. Carthell Camp and the Rev. Travis Webster officiated. Burial was in Valley Hill Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Talmadge G. Ingram, Dwight N. (Debbie) Ingram and Billy C. Ingram; grandchildren, Linda I. (Chris) Joliff, James A. (Tracy) Ingram Sr. and Brian (Pam) Ingram; 15 great grandchildren including T. Reno (Lisa) George and Jason C. (Sylvia) George; 10 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle House, Ruby (Watson) Williams, Flossie (Carthel) Camp and Ruth Bell; brother, Bud (Nina) Laney; many nieces and nephews; and extended family, Amanda M. George and Ryan. The family would like to say a special thanks to Deborah Web and Lakeside Hospice. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

RITA JACQUELINE (JACKIE) McINTYRE

NAVARRE, FL — Rita Jacqueline (Jackie) McIntyre, 69, passed away June 12, 2008. Mrs. McIntyre attended Woodlawn High School in Birmingham. She was a member of Ashville Baptist Church and spent most of her life as an Ashville resident and later retired to Navarre, Fla. Jackie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and pillar of strength. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Patrick McIntyre; sister, Linda Rosecrans; sons, Kenneth (Lisa) McIntyre and Kerry (Angie) McIntyre; daughter, Dee McIntyre; and grandchildren, Michael (Boo) Kitchens, Jamie McIntyre, Brandi McIntyre, Christopher McIntyre and Kevin McIntyre. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

KRISTEN LEE OSBORNE

PELL CITY — Funeral services for Kristen Lee Osborne, 26, were Monday, June 16, at 1 p.m. at Evening Star Baptist Church. the Rev. Ted St. John officiated. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Ms. Osborne passed away June 13, 2008. She is survived by a son, Lane Vance Osborne; daughter, Lily Jane Osborne; parents, William Osborne and Deborah Osborne; grandparents, Bill Goodman and Joann Goodman; two brothers, Brian (Connie) Osborne and Billy Osborne; two sisters, Sara Freeman and Eva Osborne; nephew, Dakota Glass; and several cousins. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.

CLIFTON W. RAMEY JR.

LINCOLN — Funeral services for Clifton W. Ramey Jr., 67, were Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City. the Rev. Michael Kiker officiated. Interment was in Forest Crest Cemetery. Mr. Ramey passed away June 12, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Betty R. Ramey; mother, Edith Mae Ramey; son, Roger Ramey; two daughters, Vickie Baxter and Debra Gay Trammell; brother, Benny Ramey; two sisters, Peggy Turner and Brenda Ramey; and six grandchildren. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.

GEORGE BENJAMIN RITCH JR.

CROPWELL — Funeral services for George Benjamin Ritch Jr., 90, were Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City, with the Rev. James Blair officiating. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery at 2 p.m. Mr. Ritch passed away June 8, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise R. Ritch; and son, Robert David Ritch. He owned Ritch Pharmacy in Mt. Brook for 40 years. He and his wife worked there together. He was a 1948 graduate of Howard College. He is survived by one granddaughter, Bevely Alison Ritch. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.

STELLA MAE ROWE

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Ms. Stella Mae Rowe, 82, was Sunday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The Rev. Zane Smith and the Rev. Ted St. John officiated. Burial was in Broken Arrow Cemetery. Ms. Rowe passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Pell City. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church for over 30 years where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was active in the Pell City Senior Center. She is survived by a daughter, Paula (James) Chapman of Cleveland, Tenn.; stepson, Johnny (Gay) Rowe of Pell City; a half sister of Athens, Tenn.; half brothers, Sammy McNelley of Toledo, OH, and Charles McNelley of Athens, Tenn.; grandson, James Paul (Angela) Chapman of Ooltewah, Tenn.; great grandsons, Joseph and Bram Chapman of Ooltewah, Tenn.; four step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Haley and Jacob Ware. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

CAROLYN KAY "KATHY" SIMMONS

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Carolyn Kay "Kathy" Simmons, 36, was Sunday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City. The Rev. Bill Ayres and the Rev. Burnette Hughes officiated. Burial was in Coosa Valley Church of God Cemetery. Mrs. Simmons passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 in Birmingham. She was a member of God's House of Prayer in Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy D. Powell. She is survived by her husband, Scott Simmons; daughters, Tiffany Jo Wheeles of Florida, Heather Nichole Riddlespur of Pell City, Hailey Gennett Riddlespur of Anniston; son, Leavy Anthony Riddlespur of Anniston; mother, Gennett Morrow of Pell City; sisters, Tracy JoAnn(Ronald) Freeman of Pell City, Brandi Elizabeth (Jayson) Bradford of Pell City; brothers, Randy Douglas (Peggy) Powell of Chattanooga, Tenn., Tommy G. (Kimberly) Powell of Pell City; stepdaughter, Angel Simmons; granddaughter, Jordan Simmons. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

JAMES MICHAEL VANVLECK

ASHVILLE — Memorial services for James Michael VanVleck, 28, will be Friday, June 20, at 2 p.m. from Ashville Church of Christ. Mr. VanVleck died Friday, June 13, 2008 in Pell City. He is survived by his mother, Wendy (John) Ratliff of Ashville; father, Rick Van Vleck of Pleasant Lake, MI; brother, Andy Van Vleck of Moody; daughter, Dallas Jamie Lovely VanVleck of Ashville; son, Logan Austin James VanVleck of Ashville; mother of his children, Sarah Angela Lovely VanVleck of Ashville; and grandparents, Lyle and Marge McDiarmid, Mich. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City is in charge of arrangements.
