NETTIE LOU ADAMS

PELL CITY — Funeral services for Nettie Lou Adams, 77, were Tuesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City. the Rev. Gordon Lee officiated. Interment was in Valley Hill Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Adams died Sunday, April 6, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Adams Sr.; mother, Alma Foote Qualls. She is survived by two sons, Bobby E. Adams Jr. and Phillip Andrew Adams; two daughters, Cynthia Adams Simmons and Wendy Gail Adams; five grandchildren, Brett Brady, Robin Adams, Bradley Simmons, Emily Simmons and Caleb Adams; two great grandchildren, Gibson Adams and Gracie Adams. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.

BUSTER BROWN SPRINGVILLE - Buster Brown, age 82, died Monday, March 31, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Era Mae Brown; daughter, Glenda Files (Jeff); son, Jerry Brown (Tammy); 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Brasher; and one son, David Wayne Brown. Services were held Thursday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery in Margaret. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds directed.

CLOVIS DAFFRON

RAGLAND — Graveside service for Mr. Clovis Daffron, 99, was Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery. the Rev. Doug Ford and the Rev. LaVernon Davis officiated. Mr. Daffron died Friday, March 28, 2008 in Pell City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Eloise Bunt Daffron. He is survived by daughters, Jewell Holland of Chicago, IL, Betty Jean Hallmark (Bobby) of Carbon Hill, Eve Swindall (Jeff) of Ragland; son, Selton Daffron (Joan) of Pensacola, FL; stepchildren, Judy Davis (Joe), Chester Sweatt (Peggy), Barbara Echols, Emris Sweatt (Marilyn), Diane Brakefield (Joe); sister, Dorothy Hines of Pell City; brother, Otto Daffron of Astoria, OR; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren including Sylvia Daffron and Clint Bahr. Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed.

SANDRA EARNESTINE HARRIS

ASHVILLE — Funeral service for Mrs. Sandra Earnestine Harris, 60, was Friday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at Usrey Chapel, Pell City. Bro. James Sampley officiated. Burial was Saturday, April 5, in the Old Walker's Chapel Cemetery in Fultondale. Mrs. Harris died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Birmingham. She was owner of Sandra's Restaurant for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Ray Harris. She is survived by daughters, Evelyn (Doyle) Stevens of Ashville, Patricia Horsley of Oneonta, Bonnie (Ed) Kennedy of Mt. Olive, NC; mother, Jamie Rebecca Sampley of Summertown, Ga.; sisters, Bonnie (Joe) Moseley of Summertown, Ga., Joan (R.H.) Cowart of Savannah, Ga.; brother, Tommy Leslie of Ashville; grandchildren, Kayla, Jesse, Ryan, J.T., Chris and Sarah; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were James Coker, Rick Davis, Paul Collett, Ray Stevens, Skip Shaw, Floyd Burttram and Chris Owens. Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, directed the service.

GWENDOLYN FAYE ROBERTS

VINCENT — Funeral services for Gwendolyn Faye Roberts, 67, were Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Chapel, Pell City. Interment was in Macedonia North Cemetery, Vincent. Mrs. Roberts died Wednesday, April 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raiford L. Roberts. Her career spanned 40 years in the radio industry. She was General Manager Associate at KIIS FM in Los Angeles, Calif. She also held management positions at Ten Q in Hollywood, Calif., The Beach in San Diego, Calif., KHJ in Los Angeles, Calif., WSGN in Birmingham. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy G. (Tracy) Watson Jr. and Michael A. (Gloria) Watson; mother, Edna L. Fleming; brother, Vichael (Lynn) Fleming Jr.; two sisters, Ruth Elaine (Jim) McCombs and Sue (Phil) Zaretki; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the services.
