The 2009 St. Clair County Jr. Miss Scholarship program is June 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Springville Middle School. Six young ladies from across St. Clair County are competing in the event. The six contestants are Kelsey Adams, Casi Crews, Alisha Edwards, Chelsea Ellis, Mary Beth Harrison and Ann-Marie Riley.
Before the six young ladies compete for the title of Jr. Miss, the fourth annual St. Clair County Jr. Miss Scholarship Program Celebrity Waiter Dinner will be held May 12. It is called “Teaming Up for Scholarships” and will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at St. Clair County High School in Odenville.
Celebrity waiters include St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor, Robert Minor, Lisa Berry, Marie Manning, Mandy Cox, County Coroner Dennis Russell, retired Circuit Judge Bill Hereford, Probate Judge Wallace Wyatt Jr., Gary Hanner, Dr. George Harris, Leah Armstrong Knotts and Bill Morris.
Kathy Soltis, program director for the St. Clair County Junior Miss Scholarship Program, said this year's team of celebrity waiters is certainly excited about assisting this program with scholarship fundraising for these college-bound senior girls.
“We are delighted that these community leaders are taking time from their busy schedules to ‘team up’ with the contestants and their program Little Sisters,” said Soltis. “They will make the dinner a financial success for the local program.”
