Man pleads not guilty to multiple porn charges

A Pell City man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in St. Clair County Circuit Court Tuesday to numerous pornography charges.

Aaron Bollinger, 30, 209 Ashley Drive, Pell City, who was indicted on multiple pornography charges by a grand jury in March, pleaded not guilty to three counts of producing pornography with a minor and five counts of possession of pornographic material containing minors.

St. Clair County Circuit Court Judge Jim Hill appointed Pell City defense attorney Kyle Barrentine to represent Bollinger in the criminal case.

Bollinger, who was initially arrested in October 2007, remains in the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City on a $250,000 bond.

Bollinger was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant at his Pell City residence.

St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor said Bollinger was taking images off the Internet and reproducing them on a disk.

Minor said producing pornographic material with a minor is a Class A felony, carrying a sentence of 10 year to life. Possession of pornographic material is a Class C felony and carries a prison sentence of one year and one day to 10 years.

According to court documents, authorities confiscated a cell phone and computer from Bollinger’s residence.

Bollinger also allegedly gave statements to authorities saying he had a problem looking at pictures of young nude females.

He allegedly told authorities he found the pornographic photographs on the Internet.

According to court documents, authorities allegedly found pictures of children from 2-years and older on Bollinger’s computer.

Authorities say the pornographic material found at Bollinger’s residence did not involve any local child.

Bollinger is scheduled to appear back in court for a plea day set for April 16. If a plea agreement is not worked out between the defendant and the state, Bollinger could face a criminal trial the week of June 23.
