A resolution was passed by the Odenville Town Council Monday that will give developers of Twelve Oaks Subdivision the chance to recoup some infrastructure costs.Infrastructure costs include parks and recreation they may add as enhancement, water and sewer utilities and the improved drainage.
Mayor Rodney “Buck” Christian said this does not cost the town any money.
This subdivision development is located off U.S. 411 across from St. Clair County High School.
Christian said with the way the economy and housing market are throughout the Southeast, St. Clair County is very fortunate to continue seeing residential growth.
“In our area, the housing market seems to be steady,” Christian said. “Our pocket of St. Clair County is unique to the Southeast in the number of new homes going up.”
Bobby Smith Jr., president of Twelve Oaks Properties Inc., said there would be 350 total homes built in the 200-plus-acre subdivision.
“There are curbed and guttered roads, city sewer, a clubhouse, pool, lake and walking trails,” Smith said. “There is a great group of partners working with me on this project. Construction started about five months ago, and we hope to start building houses on this site in 60 days. I am extremely happy and pleased with the working relationship and partnership we have with the Town of Odenville, not only on this property but at Legacy Springs as well.”
